Don't buy my books — at least not the two Ten Minute Internet guides shown on this page. I wrote them for Que, an imprint of Macmillan, in the late 1990s. As I'm sure you know, the Internet has evolved a bit since then, so the books are woefully out of date.
Please do consider reading my recent work, The Artsy Girl — in Bronze
. It's a funny novel about art, love, heavy-metal drumming, and the world's most famous beach. You can watch a preview and read three full chapters for free at www.artsygirlbooks.com.
My fiction has been published in The Sonora Review
, Thinker Magazine
, The Louisville Review
, and LEO
(Louisville Eccentric Observer).
For my day job, I'm a writer and editor in the Communications Department at Jefferson County Public Schools in Louisville, Kentucky. The school district has more than 100,000 students, and I've written nonfiction articles about many of them, including dozens of artsy students. (If you click "More photos" on my profile page, you can see a shot of me interviewing an artsy middle schooler.)
My wife and I have two teen daughters. My mother as well as my sister and her family live in the Daytona Beach area, which is the setting for my novel.
